Zach Wormhoudt is the Lead Landscape Architect Designer for California Skateparks who brainstormed with around a hundred young skaters on design ideas.

“Through a series of community workshops, we came up with a design for what would be a new state of the art, contemporary permanent skatepark.” – Zach Wormhoudt, Lead Landscape Architect Designer, California Skateparks.

The group Building Healthy Communities donated all of the money for the refurbishments – $250,000.

Fresno parks Director Manuel Molinero says it was a win-win situation: “We were either going to have to demolish it or remove it, and they approached us with the funding and we embraced it.”

There won’t be a park like it in the world, Wormhought says it will attract skaters from all over when its done in April.
