FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — More California homeowners could be getting dropped from fire coverage, and those living in high risk areas, may have to obtain more expensive policies.
Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones says the devastating drought, has insurers taking steps to protect their wallets.
California does not have any laws providing consumers with specific rights, in the event of a non-renewal.
Some homeowners have already reported receiving non-renewal letters, even though their properties are far from the biggest blazes.
