Stockton Developer Found Dead in Street

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) – Police are investigating a homicide after a Stockton real estate developer was found dead on a darkened street.

The Stockton Record reports that Ten Space Developers Chief Brand Officer Ted Egkan was found dead early Sunday just hours after leading a group of San Francisco Bay Area artists on a tour of one of his company’s buildings.

According to the police reports, officers were in central Stockton around 2 a.m. Sunday when a person told them there was what appeared to be a dead man lying in the gutter. The man had obvious signs of trauma and medics were unable to resuscitate him.

Egkan and his partners at Ten Space were trying to move housing, entertainment, jobs, retail and dining into downtown Stockton as part of a revitalization project.
