FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — One person has died following a water rescue in Fresno County on Easter Sunday.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office was called out around 4 pm Sunday to the Winton Park area, where two men were struggling in the Kings River.
The agency used a helicopter to help the men.
One man was found safe on an island. The other was found underwater.
Crews pulled him out and flew him to a hospital, where he died.
The sheriff’s office is asking the community to stay safe in the water.
The man has not been identified.
