House Passes Bill Banning Prohibition of Fracking

The House of Representatives on Friday passed a law banning the prohibition of hydraulic fracturing.

The House approved the Protecting American Energy Production Act 226 to 188, with 16 Democrats joining Republicans in passing the bill.

The bill prohibits a president from declaring a moratorium on the use of hydraulic fracturing to help secure the production of oil and gas on state and private land. It was sponsored by Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas.
