FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — Uncle Harry’s Bagelry near Fresno State reopened Tuesday days after an SUV crashed into it leaving several people hurt.
Police say the sandal of the woman behind the wheel got stuck on the accelerator pedal as she pulled into a parking spot at the location on Cedar and Shaw.
Investigators say around 25 people were inside the bagel shop at the time. No one was seriously hurt in the crash, but five people did suffer minor injuries.
“We are comforted that those involved in the accident last week are healing, and today we welcome our guests back to a safe and inviting experience,” said Wayne Rutledge, Owner of Uncle Harry’s NY Bagelry & Coffeehouse. “This location holds a special place in the hearts of our team and our customers, and we’re so grateful for the patience and
support we’ve received during this brief closure.”
In addition to the reopening of this location, Uncle Harry’s announced their return to Fig Garden Village.
After departing from the shopping hot-spot 8 years ago, Uncle Harry’s NY Bagelry & Coffeehouse will occupy the store right next door to their original location.
“We have been welcomed with open arms to Fig Garden Village once again, just steps from our original location in the center. We hope to bring that community of bagel lovers back to their roots with this one,” shares Rutledge.
Their newest Fig Garden Village location is currently under construction and is set to open in Spring 2025.
