Mother and Son Dead Following Break-in at Tulare Home, Police Say

TULARE, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — Two people are dead and a suspect is in custody after a reported break-in and shooting at a Tulare home.

Police say they were called out to Berkeley Avenue near Oaks Street at about 3 am Thursday.

The caller had reported someone was breaking into their home.

When police arrived, they found three people suffering from injuries.

They say they found a 38-year-old man dead inside the home along with a 58-year-old woman, who was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

A man was found shot in the backyard. Police say he received those wounds from someone in the home.

That man is now being treated for his injuries and was taken into custody.

The victims have now been identified as 38 year-old Raymond Garza, and his 58 year-old mother Melissa Quinn.
