Former Treasurer of Kern County Republican Organization Pleads Guilty to Bank Fraud

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The former treasurer of the Kern County Republican Central Committee awaits sentencing after pleading guilty Monday to bank fraud.

According to court documents, between 2013 and 2019, 41-year-old Bryan Williams of Atascadero, served as the treasurer of the Kern County Republican Central Committee.

During that time period, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says Williams stole between $230,000 and $435,000 from the organization, and used those funds for his personal use.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 27th, 2025.

Williams faces 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
