MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — Deputies have a man in custody for a deadly shooting in Merced County.
It happened at about 7:30 pm Thursday at Vine and Fruitland Avenues, just outside Atwater.
Deputies say one man was killed, but they have not released what led to the deadly incident.
Investigators identified the suspect as Straightarrow McPherson.
He was booked early Friday morning for first-degree murder and being in possession of a firearm.
His bail is set at over $1 million.
