Man Arrested For ‘Unprovoked’ Stabbing in Los Banos

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — A man was arrested after police say he stabbed the owner of a Los Banos Jiu-Jitsu business on Monday night.

The Los Banos Police Department is calling it an “unprovoked” attack.

Officers arrested 25-year-old Reginald Scott Grimes Jr. after witnesses identified him as the suspect.

Family members confirm the victim is Scott Savage, the owner and operator of Scott Savage Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

He was attacked at his dojo on Mercey Springs Road near Santa Rita Avenue at around 7:30 pm.

Police say Savage was stabbed several times and is now recovering at the hospital.

People who witnessed the attack tried to chase after Grimes before officers arrived and tracked him down.

Grimes is now booked in jail on attempted murder charges.

The victim in this case is said to be recovering, but Los Banos Police provided no further details.
