FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — An investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed in northeast Fresno.
The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Joel Rueda.
It happened before 11:00 pm Thursday at Bulldog Lane and Millbrook Avenue, near Fresno State.
Police say neighbors called for help after hearing three to four gunshots.
They found Rueda shot in the upper body in front of an apartment complex.
Despite lifesaving efforts, he was declared dead at the scene.
A woman was taken into handcuffs, but police have not said if she is connected to the incident.
Police are asking witnesses to come forward.
Authorities say no Fresno State students are known to be involved in this incident.
