Two Life Sentences for Porterville Man who Murdered Parents

Kenneth Smith was sentenced Friday to two life sentences without the possibility of parole for the 2015 murders of his parents.

The Porterville man, now 65, was found guilty of strangling his elderly parents. His father was 84 and mother was 83 at the time of the killings.

Their bodies were found under a tarp and blankets on their property by Tulare County deputies.

Tulare County District Attorney Tim Ward called it a “heinous crime which impacted the community and surviving family in ways we cannot comprehend, and I am thankful for the justice served today”.
