
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. — A known gang member was sentenced Tuesday for a 2020 attempted murder and shooting spree.
The Fresno County DA’s Office says 31-year-old Misael Gonzalez of Fresno, was sentenced to a determinant term of 15 years followed by an indeterminant term of 85 years to life in prison.
Gonzalez according to officials carried out a series of crimes in benefit of the local street gang. On May 26, 2020, Gonzalez along with other gang members made three different stops.
The first was at a home where he shot a person in the face. Officials say the victim survived but lost all vision in one eye due to the shooting.
During the second stop, Gonzalez pulled off a drive-by shooting at a home. Fortunately, no one was injured.
At their last stop, Gonzalez and another gang member approach another home but to their surprise, no one answered the door. Both returned to their vehicle but decided to open fire at the home before leaving.
No one was injured but the home was damaged due to the shooting.
Gonzalez was arrested shortly after the crimes, and a jury found him guilty in a trial that concluded on October 2022.
