MALIBU, Calif. (KMJ) — An early morning earthquake shook the Southern California coastline on Wednesday.
The 4.2 magnitude quake happened around 2:00 a.m. under the ocean about 10 miles south of Malibu Beach west of Los Angeles according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Many people all over Los Angeles County and surrounding areas reported feeling the quake.
The USGS says a 3.5 magnitude quake happened in the same area just seconds after the first one, which was followed by smaller aftershocks over the next several minutes.
There was no damage reported and no tsunami threat, according to the National Tsunami Warning Center.
