REEDLEY, Calif. (KMJ) — A man has been arrested after police say he shot and killed a 15-year-old in Reedley.
Police arrested 22-year-old Luis Ponce on Monday for the shooting that happened back in July near Myrtle Ave. and 11th St.
At the time of the shooting, police arrived and found Alan Herrera, 15, with several gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
After several months of the investigation, detectives identified Ponce as the primary suspect. A warrant was then issued for his arrest.
He was taken into custody through a traffic stop without incident on Monday.
Ponce is now at the Fresno County Jail facing homicide charges.
