Fresno State Announces 2022 Themes for 6 Home Football Games

FRESNO, Calif. – With just three months to the day until kickoff of the 2022 football season at Bulldog Stadium, Fresno State announced its themes for the six home games set to be played in Fresno this fall.

The season will kick off inside Bulldog Stadium on September 1 as the ‘Dogs host Cal Poly for a Thursday night game, nationally televised on FS1. The Red Wave is encouraged to come out in full force to support the Bulldogs in head coach Jeff Tedford‘s return to the sideline.

All six home games will be nationally televised, providing an opportunity for Fresno State and its fan base to showcase the passion and support of Bulldog football. Single game tickets to all six home games will go on sale in July.

A full list of the 2022 game themes is provided below:

  • Thursday, Sept. 1 vs. Cal Poly – Bulldog Fiesta
  • Saturday, Sept. 10 vs. Oregon State – Green V Fest
  • Saturday, Oct. 15 vs. San Jose State – Homecoming
  • Saturday, Oct. 29 vs. San Diego State – Fright Night
  • Saturday, Nov. 5 vs. Hawai’i – Heroes Night
  • Friday, Nov. 25 vs. Wyoming – Kids Night

Additionally, fans can enjoy the “Biggest Party in the Valley” as the best tailgating in the Mountain West will once again fill Fresno State’s tailgate lots and Bulldog BLVD, presented by Toyota, will return as the official pregame fan fest of Bulldog Football, including live music, food trucks, and more in partnership with Fresno Street Eats.

Each game will also be presented by game sponsors who have a long history of supporting Fresno State and the San Joaquin Valley, including: Sun-Maid, Pepsi, Table Mountain Casino, Bud Light, and Affinity Truck Center. As the season approaches, more details and information on other exciting elements that will surround each game will be revealed.

With Tedford’s return, the excitement around Bulldog football is higher now than ever. Coach Tedford’s staff includes several Bulldog football alumni and former coaches, including: John Baxter (special teams and tight ends), Kevin Coyle (defensive coordinator), Tim Skipper (linebackers), Jethro Franklin (defensive line) and J.D. Williams (defensive backs).

On the field, the ‘Dogs return all-conference players in quarterback Jake Haener, wide receivers Jalen Cropper and Josh Kelly, defensive end David Perales, linebacker Levelle Bailey and defensive back Evan Williams. In addition to the talent that has already been recognized as all-conference players, Fresno State has a plethora of athletes on both sides of the ball who are returning and expecting to make a mark in 2022 including skill offensive players in running back Jordan Mims, wide receivers Ty Jones and Zane Pope among others, and tight ends Raymond Pauwels Jr. and Tre Watson. Defensively, the ‘Dogs return all but four starters with promising talent in linebacker Malachi Langley, defensive backs Elijah GatesLJ Early, and Cale Sanders, and defensive linemen Leonard Payne Jr.Isaiah Johnson and Evan Bennett.

Tedford and Co. have actively recruited players to the Bulldogs’ program since their arrival. Joining the program as mid-year additions from Division I programs were Cal transfer wide receiver Nikko Remigio, USC transfer linebacker Raymond Scott, and Hawai’i transfer defensive back Cam Lockridge.
