Fresno, CA- The City of Fresno is accepting applications to serve on the Fresno Women’s Commission established at the April 28th, 2022 City Council meeting. Those appointed to the Women’s Commission will advise the City Council on issues affecting women and girls in the City of Fresno.
The Women’s Commission will be made up of 7 commissioners, one per council district. Commissioners will serve for a 2-year term, and will be provided with training and a $500 stipend for their service.
The City of Fresno Women’s Commission is only the 9th city-specific Women’s Commission in the State of California. This effort is funded through the Women’s Recovery Response Grant Program administered by the California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls (CCSWG). This is the first time that the State of California has dedicated resources for the specific needs of women impacted by COVID-19 pandemic.
