FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Assemblyman Kevin Kiley, R-Rocklin announced Tuesday that he would run for governor in the state’s recall election.
Assemblyman Kiley said he wants to “renew the meaning of ‘We the People.’”
Kiley has served in the legislature since 2016, and serves as vice-chair of the assembly education committee.
He holds degrees from Harvard and Yale.

Kiley’s GOP opponents include former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, 2018 candidate John Cox, former Rep. Doug Ose, and Caitlyn Jenner.
Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis scheduled the recall election for Sept. 14.
