MERCED, CA (KMJ) — The Merced Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a man suspected of child molestation.
Police say they were investigating a report of lewd and lascivious acts against a child under the age of 8-years-old in August of this year.
Detectives identified the suspect as Jose Guadalupe Mendoza.
Detectives have made many attempts to make contact with Mendoza but he has refused to speak to investigators and has not turned himself in.
A warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 8 and continued sexual abuse of a victim.
