Suspect Arrested in Murder of 16 yr Old Alize Morales

An 18 year old man has been arrested in connection with the October shooting death of 16 year old Alize Morales.

The deadly incident occurred the evening of Saturday, Oct. 10 near Belmont Ave. and Calaveras St.

Fresno PD says Shot Spotter reported multiple gunshots being fired and found several shell casings in the roadway when officers arrived.

Morales suffered from gunshot wounds and later succumbed to her injuries. Another gunshot victim, a male juvenile, was also driven to CRMC where he received treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his wrist and later released.

With the assistance from detectives assigned to the Multi Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (M.A.G.E.C.), homicide investigators were able to identify the shooting suspect as 18 year old Los Angeles resident Kobi Johnson. Johnson, who is originally from Fresno with ties to the Weller Street Criminal Street Gang, was arrested in Fresno on Monday December 7, 2020 by members of the Fresno Police Department’s Career Criminal Apprehension Team and booked into the Fresno County Jail for several charges to include Murder and Assault with a deadly weapon.

On Wednesday December 9, 2020, the case was presented to the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office where formal charges, to include murder were filed against Johnson.
