A Pair of Arrests Made Following Shooting in Orosi

(KMJ) – Tulare County Sheriff’s Deputies take two suspects into custody in connection to a shooting Thursday morning that critically injured one man.

Deputies were called to a scene near Avenue 412 and Road 130 in Orosi around 1 a.m. Thursday after a reported gun battle between two vehicles.  At the scene investigators found 55-year old Brian Gomez suffering from a gunshot wound and rushed him to the hospital in critical condition.

Based on evidence from the scene, Detectives served a search warrant at a home in Orosi hours later and took 24-year old Juan Contreras and 20-year old Daniel Vargas into custody.   Both men were booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Pre-trial Facility on attempted murder charges, with the possibility of being upgraded to homicide.
