Bakersfield, (KMJ) – Conservative radio personality Inga Barks has passed away.

Inga Barks was a name in radio in the Central Valley for decades, working here at KMJ then later in Bakersfield.

KMJ’s Program Director Blake Taylor began working with Barks in 2002 at KERN radio in Bakersfield.

He called her “an uber-talented woman in a male-dominated profession, with a Rolodex that was unparalleled.”

Barks wanted to stay local for her family and serve the Central Valley’s listeners.

Her son, Solomon Barks, announced her passing early Wednesday morning in a post later on Facebook.

News of her death reached national personalities, including host Mark Levin, featured nightly on KMJ.

He tweeted “RIP, Inga Barks, my dear friend. You were an outstanding human-being. You’ll be greatly missed.”
