MONTERREY, CA (KMJ) – A crew of firefighters were rushed to a Fresno hospital after getting injured while battling a wildfire in California.
The U.S. Forest Service says that 14 firefighters and bulldozer operators were hurt while fighting the Dolan Fire near Big Sur in Monterey County.
US. Forest officials say that the crew received burns and suffered from smoke inhalation.
Three were airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, where officials say one person is in critical condition.
All three firefighters are receiving care in the hospital’s burn center.
Officials have not given details on how the firefighters were injured.
As of Tuesday, the Dolan Fire has burned 73,089 acres and is 40% contained.
