FRESNO, CA (KMJ) Governor Gavin Newsom is relaxing rules to allow “some” students to return to school and daycare during the COVID-19 pandemic..

The California Department of Public health sent out a news release Tuesday with what it calls guidance for small co-horts and groups of children “in controlled, supervised and indoor environments – that are operated by local education agencies,, non profits or other providers. That includes public and private schools and day care programs and youth camps.”
The news release says it’s not applicable for all schools, day cares, camps and sports.
Guidance Applies to Educational and Childcare Settings
Groups or Cohorts Must be Limited to No More Than 14 Children and 2 Adults
There’s a list of rules, including no more than 14 children together, no more than two adults, who must wear masks. They are assigned to work with only one group, and it must be the same group each day.
Among the guidance, children must be kept separate from each other, and class and playground activities must be staggered.
