FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A 19-year-old Fresno woman who was seven-months pregnant was killed by a driver in Northwest Fresno on Sunday night.
Fresno police say Autumn Frank was walking with friends on Swift Avenue near Marks around 10:30pm Sunday night
She had almost made it out of the crosswalk and onto the sidewalk when police say an SUV speeding north on Marks struck and killed her.
Police says the driver has been identified as 32-year-old Kenneth Carter.
Police say that the driver, later identified as Kenneth Carter, didn’t stop after the accident, but did call 911 once he got home.
He reportedly told a dispatcher that he thought that he had hit a dog.
Carter was booked into the Fresno County Jail for vehicular manslaughter.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said he bonded out of jail on Monday morning.
His bail was set at $12,000.
