(KMJ) – Wednesday, a jury returned guilty verdicts against Kori Ali Muhammad for gunning down four men in a 2017 Fresno shooting spree.
Muhammad was found guilty of three counts of second-degree murder for the deaths of Carl Williams at a Motel 6 April 13, 2017, as well as the shootings of Zack Randalls, and Mark Gassett. They were killed in Downtown Fresno April 18th.
He was also found guilty on one count of first-degree murder for the death of David Jackson. He, too, was killed outside Catholic Charities downtown on the 18th. But the jury opted for the more severe charge against Muhammad as it ruled his killing of Jackson was racially motivated.
Jurors also found him guilty of four counts of second-degree attempted murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
The sanity phase of this trial is now set to begin Monday. And it will establish if Kori Muhammad will be hospitalized or sent to prison. And prosecutors say he could still face the death penalty.
