SACRAMENTO, CA (KMJ) – 1075 people were tested as of Tuesday morning, said Governor Gavin Newsom.
18 labs are processing tests throughout Califorina, with 7665 tests available.
There were 157 positive Corona Virus cases up and down California as of Tuesday, up 24 since Monday.
The state is begin to shift the burden from California labs to commercial private partners and hospitals as the state ramps up to be able to be process 5000-5500 tests on a daily basis.
As of 1:00 pm Tuesday, Governor Newsom said 269 people were moved off the Grand Princess Cruise Ship docked in Oakland,
People from 54 countries were on the boat, 24 states were represented.
Gov. Newsom said they were trying to put them as close to their home state as possible, and Texas was “softening on just taking Texas residents.”
171 passengers were taken to Travis Air Force Base and others were on flights to Joint Base San Antonio Lackland in Texas,
Passengers will also be quarantined at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego and Dobbins Air Force Base in Georgia.
407 passengers from the Grand Princess ship were able to disembark on Monday night, 26 have been transported to hospitals in six different counties.
Gov. Newsom said that the passengers from the original Grand Princess cruise continue to be monitored, after 12 were confirmed positive cases.
Newsom said 10,300 people who have flown into the state from commercial flights are being monitored.
California has two coronavirus related deaths, an elderly man in Placer County and a woman in her 60’s in Santa Clara County.
