FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Fresno police offer a reward, hoping to generate leads in a cold case homicide that took place in Central Fresno, three years ago.
An unarmed father of three small children was shot in a convertible.
The crime happened on December 5th of 2017, around midnight.
Fresno police were flagged down by someone who directed them to a black Ford mustang convertible at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and First St.
Inside was 27-year-old John Timothy Graves, suffering from a gunshot wound.
The officer felt a slight pulse and immediately tried to save him.
Graves was later transported to CRMC but did not survive.
Police say Graves was unarmed and not involved in any criminal activity when another vehicle pulled along-side his car then started firing multiple times.
The Homicide Unit has continued to investigate this case; however, witnesses have been unwilling to come forward.
They are asking for the public’s assistance — anyone with information about the incident should contact Crime Stoppers or the Fresno Police Department.
There is an increased reward regarding this investigation.
