FRESNO, CA (KMJ) — Valley Children’s Hospital Foundation is canceling it’s annual Kids Day fundraiser.
It would have been the 33rd annual Kids Day, with volunteers stand on street corners in Fresno, selling a special edition of the Fresno Bee to collect money for the hospital.
Valley Children’s Hospital held the fundraiser since 1987, but opted to cancel it this year to avoid spreading viruses, such as the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Valley Children’s Hospital changed its visitor policy, effective immediately due to concerns over the corona virus.
Now, only parents, guardians or direct caregivers will be allowed entry into the hospital with patients.
All patients and visitors will be screened at all hospital entrances and questioned regarding their health and recent travel history.
The new policy applies to all of the hospital’s Valley locations including urgent care, specialty care, and primary care.
