MERCED COUNTY,CA (KMJ) – An investigation is underway after a deputy was shot while responding to a call, the Merced County Sheriff’s Office says.
It happened Wednesday around midnight near a house in the 7000 block of Yamato Road in Livingston.
According to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, when the deputy got to the house regarding a disturbance call, the deputy was shot and struck by an unknown firearm.
The deputy received minor injuries and is expected to be fine, the Sheriff’s Office says.
The Merced County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and Investigations Bureau were called to the area and is in the beginning stages of the investigation.
There are many road closures in the area surrounding Yamato Road.
