Former CHP Officer Charged With Receiving Child Pornography

REDDING, Calif. (AP) – Federal prosecutors say a former California Highway Patrol officer from Northern California has been charged with receiving child pornography.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Sacramento says a federal grand jury indicted 50-year-old Timothy Allen Horwath.

Officials say Horwath knowingly received sexually explicit videos of children between the ages of 4 and 7.

The highway patrol says the alleged conduct occurred “while the employee was on and off duty” and that Horwath stopped working on Nov. 12.

He did not immediately respond to a telephone message left at a listing for him.
