FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A burial service for two babies: Sally and Charity, abandoned in Fresno County, will be held Saturday, October 26th, 2019.
Twice a year Garden of Innocence ensures that children found abandoned or left unidentified are given a loving goodbye.
Members of the public are invited to the ceremonies.
Fresno County Deputy Coroner Kelly Matlock helped establish this national burial program in our area back in 2012.
Individual poems are written and read.
Urns holding the remains of each infant are passed from person to person as a symbol of recognition of and love for each child.
Organizers say they need blankets and beanie babies for this burial.
You can bring them to the ceremony or drop them off at the cemetery office ahead of time.
The burial service will be held Saturday, October 26th at 10:00 am.
It takes place at Mt. View Cemetery, 1411 W. Belmont Ave. in Fresno.
