(KMJ) – Vermont Senator and Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has cancelled all events – including a town hall Thursday at Fresno City College – until further notice after undergoing emergency surgery.
His campaign says the 78-year old experienced chest pains during an event Tuesday night. As a result, he underwent a heart procedure to insert two stents into an artery. One of his senior advisers has since said the Senator is now recovering and in good spirits.
As he rests up over the next few days, his campaign says all events and appearances are cancelled until further notice.
