CLOVIS, CA (KMJ) – A former Clovis Police Department employee is arrested for sexual assault of a minor who police say he met at a summer camp.

Detectives arrested 26-year-old Mitchell Singh outside his Clovis home, on Thursday morning.

He’s facing a series of sex crime charges.

Police say the 14-year-old victim’s family were made aware of the alleged assault and contacted detectives on Sunday, August 24, 2019.

Detectives say Singh met the victim in 2015 while working at a summer camp, and that from 2017 on more than 30 sex crimes took place.

Singh worked as a community service officer with the Clovis Police Department in a non-sworn civilian position up until July, when he was released from probationary employment.

The Clovis Police Department said his release was unrelated to these charges.

Detective say all the alleged acts of sexual misconduct occurred while Singh was off-duty.
