FRESNO (KMJ) – Governor Gavin Newsom, in the community of Tombstone a few miles outside of Sanger to sign SB 200 which creates the Safe and Affordable Drinking Water Fund.
“This is the wealthiest state in the wealthiest democracy in the world, and it’s happened on our watch, we own this,” Newsom said. “Those that want to criticize us, they’re right.”
SB 200 creates a solution by giving up to $130 million a year to safe drinking water projects.
“And we have to prove that this money’s going to be wisely invested, that’s on me,” Newsom said.
