TULARE COUNTY, CA (KMJ) – The search for a missing jet skier at Kaweah Lake comes to an end –with good news.

A woman told the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office that she was jet skiing with a man she met recently but he had gone missing when his jet ski flipped.

She said she swam back and called for help.

Around 9:30 Sunday night, the CHP’s helicopter and Tulare County Sheriff’s plane were in the air, joining deputies on the ground, and rescuers in the waters east of Horse Creek campground.

They found the man’s pick-up truck in the Slick Rock parking lot, and later located his jet ski.

Then, Tulare County Sheriff’s Office delivered the news on Monday, that the man was alive.

He told deputies that he was able to swim to shore with his jet ski and he spent the night on a remote shore of the lake.

He is in good condition.
