FRESNO (KMJ) – “Do you believe that the politicians at the national level, of both parties, have been out of touch?” asked Chris Matthews.
<Loud Cheer>
South Bend Indiana Mayor and Democratic Presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg was at Fresno State for a MSNBC Town Hall with Chris Matthews.
Pete Buttigieg: I guess the point is, if we have a campaign where the theme is, well lets go back to normal, then i think…
Chris Matthews: That’s what Biden wants. You’re suggesting Biden would do that.
Pete Buttigieg: I’m not going to talk to anyone’s campaign strategy…
Chris Matthews: Oh, yes you are! This is an indirect shot at Biden!
Buttigieg is polling third in some polls, right behind Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders.
“This is a lot bigger than one candidate or one cycle,” Buttigieg said.
The Republican Party tweeted in response to today’s excitement about Buttigieg, saying he’s a failed mayor of a town where 65 percent of residents are unhappy with how Buttigieg has maintained the streets.
