TULARE COUNTY, CA (KMJ) – Two bats have tested positive for rabies in Tulare County
Tulare County Health officials say one rabid bat was found in the City of Tulare and the other one was located in South Visalia.
Health officials are warning for people to stay away from bats, especially children.
In 2018, 13 percent of bats tested by the Tulare County Public Health Lab were found to have rabies.
Health officials say never touch a bat with your bare hands, if they are found in your home, on your property, or in a public place, call your local animal control.
