FRESNO,CA(KMJ) – A special Blue Mass is taking place Friday in Downtown Fresno.
All faiths are welcome to attend the service at St. John’s Cathedral at 2814 Mariposa Street.
The 6th Annual Blue Mass will be lead by Bishop Armando Ochoa to commemorate all law officers, fire, and emergency personnel who serve within the Diocese of Fresno.
“This is a unique opportunity to come in and pray, and celebrate a religious event with members from throughout the law enforcement, fire and public safety community, and it gives you an opportunity to sit there, to interact with them and share in this experience being the Blue Mass,” said Fresno County Assistant Sheriff, John Zanoni.
The Blue Mass also remembers those who have fallen.
Bishop Ochoa will bless vehicles driven by public safety officers after the service.
The mass takes place from 12:10 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018.
