FRESNO (KMJ) — An inmate attack inside Fresno County Jail has ended with four correctional officers injured, according to Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

Emillion Mancia, who was originally booked into the facility for murder in 2016, is alleged to have attacked two correctional officers with a small jail issued razor. The Sheriff’s Office said the pair received several slash wounds to the face. That prompted two more correctional officers to help, one ending up with injuries to his hand and the other to his knee.

The 35 year old suspect was taken back to his cell and he is expected to face new criminal charges. He is designated as a danger to staff, which means two correctional officers are required to move him around the facility.

“It’s going to either be attempted homicide or at least assault with a deadly weapon, a couple of charges of those,” detailed Fresno County Sheriff’s Office’s Tony Botti.

“As the investigation plays out and we talk with this inmate, talk with our correctional officers a little bit more figure out what happened, we’ll use that to try to determine any additional charges that he’ll face.”

The injured officers all received medical treatment for their injuries, and have said that they’re eager to return to work.
