FRESNO (KMJ) — There are some big changes coming to Fresno State’s bulldog stadium – and it’s not just the players.

HD video scoreboards and a new sound system are two of the bigger budget improvements coming to bulldog stadium.

But when it comes to bringing the crowds in to support the local team – they’re trying some other ideas too.

“We’re going to start in the middle of this month to fly something around town that’s really really really big, it’s really really really red, and we’re going to do some very special social media contests around this really really really red blimp and we think people are going to have some fun with it”, says Senior Associate Athletic Director at Fresno Sstate Paul Ladwig.

As well as the new blimp, another new four-legged addition will be introduced too.

On the first game of the new season on September 3rd, new mascot Victor E. Bulldog III will make his first appearance in front of a game crowd.

“First and foremost we’re going to do a little look back on Victor E. II. But yes the new guy is going to come into the stadium and there’s going to be a very special time when he’s going to meet 40,000 of his closest friends”.

There are some theme days planned for this year – such as band day, spirit day, youth day, and ag day so there’s a lot being planned this season to keep the crowds coming.
