Authorities in Kern County continue to hunt for a man who shot and wounded two Kern County sheriff’s deputies.
The deputies were fired on Saturday night while searching farm outbuildings in the Twin Oaks area.
Deputy Michael Booker remains hospitalized in stable condition. And Deputy Jose Perez, who pulled Booker to safety, was grazed in the shooting.
Deputies returned fire but it’s unclear whether they hit anyone.
Authorities have been searching east of Bakersfield for the killer of a 64-year-old man who was found shot in a cabin on Thursday in Jawbone Canyon.
Authorities haven’t confirmed that Saturday’s attacker is the killer. But he matches the description of a man who held three people at gunpoint in a cabin Tuesday before stealing their car.
