FRESNO (KMJ) — Bigger planes will soon be serving the early morning United Airlines route from Fresno Yosemite International to San Francisco.
The 6am departure from the Central Valley to SFO is currently served by 50 seat CRJ 200s.
“The 737 is going to have 150 seats,” reveals the City of Fresno’s Director of Aviation Kevin Meikle.
“So it’s an extra 100 seats in that early morning departure to get people into San Francisco and then connecting on.”
He describes it as a significant enhancement for the airline.
“We have a lot of demand in our market, and they know that. They know that because in the past when they have changed aircraft to larger, more seats, those seats get filled.”
The Boeing 737s are set to fly out of Fresno Yosemite International from August 15th.
