FRESNO (KMJ) — Officials with the Fresno Grizzlies are once again searching for talented performers, to bring the National Anthem to Chukchansi Park.
“The Central Valley is filled with people with amazing voices and musical skill,” says Grizzlies Events & Entertainment Manager Ray Ortiz.
“These auditions and performing at the ballpark give people the chance to showcase that talent in front of the largest crowd possible in our area during the spring and summer.”
The panel of judges are looking for any talent, with no preference on how the music is brought to the field.
“Whether you sing the National Anthem, play it on a kazoo, play it on a bass guitar, or a saxophone, or a flute. Whatever it is that you play it on, we’re looking for you guys to come out and audition.”
Each person auditioning will be required to bring at least 30 seconds of a song of their choice.
“Everything is done day-of, so you can show up just a little bit early with some time to spare, you can fill out a one sheet information sheet. Then you’ll get to audition.” adds Ortiz.
Those chosen will be asked to perform at the home games, meaning that there are between 50 to 60 slots available throughout the season.
The first audition date is Saturday February 25th at Hanford Mall. It starts at 11am and ends at 2pm.
The second audition date is Saturday March 4th at the event area inside Fresno’s River Park. It too starts at 11am and ends at 2pm.
