FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Christmas Tree Lane will open this weekend in northwest Fresno.
The 96th annual opening of Christmas Tree Lane will be this Saturday, December 3rd. It will be a walk-only night! No vehicles will be allowed to travel on Van Ness Blvd. between Shaw Ave. and Shields Ave. from 6-11pm. The first drive night will be Sunday, December 4th. (Another walk-only night will be on Tuesday, December 13th.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has some tips if you’re heading to walk the lane:
– Allow extra time to get around city streets as it will be very crowded.
– Park only in permitted areas and do not block driveways.
– Lock your vehicles and do not leave any valuables visible inside.
– Parents should keep a close eye on their children and consider
carrying a flashlight for extra visibility.
– Dress warm as temperatures are known to be in the 30s and 40s.
– No alcohol is allowed on Christmas Tree Lane.
– Please be respectful
Also on walking nights, Tree Fresno will be providing shuttle rides from the northeast section of Fig Garden Village. Tickets may be purchased online at www.treefresno.org and inside Whole Foods.
Christmas Tree Lane will remain open until December 25th. Motorists can see all of the decorations by traveling north on Van Ness during the following schedule.
Sunday -Thursday – 6-10pm
Friday & Saturday – 6-11pm
