FRESNO (KMJ) — Fresno’s Mayor-elect Lee Brand has announced the members of his transition team, as well as key staff members, which will lead him to City Hall.
Among them, former Fresno City Council Member Blong Xiong, President of Fresno Police Officer’s Association Damon Kurtz, former Superintendent of Fresno County Office of Education Larry Powell, as well as President and CEO of Fresno County Economic Development Corporation Lee Ann Eager.
“If you had a mirror, and you had that mirror outside, this mirror is a reflection of Fresno”, explains Brand. “It’s the diversity of this city. Everybody here is a leader in their own respect”.
The team members were unveiled in Downtown Fresno Wednesday morning. He says they were deliberately chosen to be diverse.
“To benefit the City of Fresno I need people that are representing the leaders of the city of Fresno, to give me the input to make the wisest decision”.
But the plan is that the new administration inside Fresno City Hall will not look that different compared to the one it’s replacing.
“They’ll be some people that are in existing positions, I’ll keep them. Probably in the next two weeks we’re going to find out more on the new people added and the existing people retained.
“So stay tuned”.
