Study: Auto Pollution Costs Calif. $15 Billion Annually

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — $15 billion.

According to American Lung Association, that’s how much pollution caused by automobiles costs the Golden State each year, in health and climate expenses.

The association’s new study claims every tank of gas burned costs more than $18, in so-called hidden health costs.

Researchers believe further adopting zero-emission vehicles will lead to a reduction in such costs, by helping to curb pollution-related illnesses.
