FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A Fresno man is arrested on Monday, October 24th for attempting to abduct a four year old girl.
Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on the 3000 block of Cornelia, where a grandmother told them that a man approached her and her granddaughter outside their home.
“He had a keychain as a toy in an effort to lure the little girl to come with him. The woman intervened and ordered Molina to leave the property, which he did. A short time later, Molina returned and again tried to get the little girl’s attention.” – Tony Botti, Fresno County Sheriff’s Spokesperson.
The woman became scared and she took her grandaughter into the car, locked the doors, and dialed 911.
Deputies later found and arrested 31 year old Juan Rocha Molina inside a stolen car at N. Cornelia and W. Garland.
He faces felony charges of attempted kidnapping and vehicle theft. Molina’s bail is set at $85,000.
Botti says the victims have no ties to Juan Molina, and they are asking anyone else who may have been approached to contact Sheriff’s Office dispatchers at (559) 600-3111 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP (7867).
