FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A SWAT situation is now over in Southeast Fresno, with a man and the pregnant victim taken to the hospital.
Fresno Police Chief says it was a hostage situation at the home, where a 32 year old Hispanic man with a history of violence reportedly shot his pregnant wife on the 2300 block of Meridian by Maple & Church.
Chief Jerry Dyer says the man, Emmanuel Servin, believed to be high on meth, has a history of domestic violence, and told police he had weapons, including an AR-15 inside the home.
Dyer says he was isolated in a bedroom, and shots were fired through a door.
Dyer says the women, was believed to have been shot last night.
Police say the suspect spoke to his mother at 6:20 am and asked for her to come for three kids inside the house -two 7 year-olds, and a three year-old.
The three children told the suspect’s mother that Servin shot the woman in the back, and described blood on the walls.
Three children inside the residence came out, unharmed.
A negotiator was brought in to end the standoff.
A man and woman were taken into two awaiting ambulances outside the incident site – just after noon, Wednesday.
