FRESNO (KMJ) — Fresno Unified details what it would like to do with the Measure X money, but there’s some way to go to make it all happen.

Measure X will appear on the ballot in Fresno County this November, and if it gets the green light it would bring $225 million into Fresno Unified School District. The district’s plan for what to do with that money is first being presented to the Board of Education Wednesday night for their approval.

“Once this funding is secured we will take the steps to scope out each project and then ultimately put it out to bid for construction”, explains Superintendent Michael Hanson.

If it’s then approved by voters, Measure X would support projects such as classroom improvement, improved security, and infrastructure repairs.

Fresno Unified School District adds that the measure would maintain the current authorized tax rate and build upon past investments as detailed in the district’s Facilities Master Plan.

The ‘Measure X Investment Priorities’ is the second item on the board’s Conference/Discussion Agenda, set to be heard Wednesday evening.
